Type Locality and Naming

The type section is lies in the gully of Zhucaowu Village at Linghu, 12 km north of Changshan County Seat, Zhejiang. It was named by Jiang Shengzhi et al. in 1963.


Lithology and Thickness

Sandstone. Composed of interbedded pebbly sandstone, sandstone, siltstone and mudstone, characterized by purple and gray interbeds. 39.8−195.5 m thick

Lower contact

Conformable contact with the underlying Xihu Fm

Upper contact

Disconformable contact with the overlying Yejiatang Fm and Laohu Fm.

Regional extent

Plants Lepidodendropsis cf. hirmeri, Sublepidodendron mirabile, Eolepidodendron wusihense, Bothrodendron fuyangense, Sphenophyllum sp., Sphenopteridium sp. and Leptophloeum rhombicum.
